What is the difference between...

Member (of the Association)

Members have voting rights at the Annual General Meeting, no periodic meeting attendance is required.
We invite new members to join the association.
Membership renewals and application forms can be obtained from Menzies Support Services at 49 Nihil Street, requested by email or post, or use the web form below.

Committee of Management

Committee members are more intrinsically involved in setting strategic directions of the Association, attending 2 hourly monthly meetings to approve general business items and policies and consider legal and financial matters.
Tertiary education and management leadership skills are highly valued for these positions. Committee members may contribute to other adhoc activities like working bees and attending official events. Ordinary members have no obligation to do extra duties. Executive members tend to handle those. All voting rights are equal.
You will be expected to read a lot of material initially (Rules of Association and policies of Menzies) and prepare for meetings by reading the distributed minutes, financial statements, CEO report and sub committee reports.  Participation on chosen subcommittees is expected  also, although meetings are casually arranged rather than formal. Terms are 1, 2 and 3 year appointments, at which time the member can stand for re-election or not.
