Community Aged Care

Menzies Support Services is a local not-for-profit organisation based in Alexandra, Victoria

We are committed to providing person-centred services, supporting older people to thrive living in their own home, and interacting with their community.

We provide supports based on your individual needs and preferences, including community aged care services:

  • Personal care, assistance with hygiene and self care
  • Domestic assistance, support to complete household tasks
  • Individual social support, assisted shopping
  • Group social support outings, activities, and meals

 

Commencing your supports

If you are interested in receiving services, please contact My Aged Care or your private funding body and ask for a referral.

Home Care Package services (HCP)

If you have a Home Care Package (HCP), contact your HCP Provider to arrange your support services. 

Commonwealth Home Support Program services (CHSP)

Under CHSP, we provide personal care, domestic assistance and respite services across eastern Murrindindi Shire. Our social support services are available throughout the Shire.

The provider for CHSP services in the Shire is Sunbury Cobaw Community Health.

Once you have had an assessment and receive a referral code from My Aged Care (MAC), you can contact Sunbury Cobaw Community Health (03) 5421 6037 to discuss implementing your services with us.

Sunbury Cobaw Community Health will then refer you to Menzies Support Services to commence your supports.

Care Finder Program

The care finder program provides support for vulnerable older people to interact with My Aged Care, access aged care services and access other relevant supports in the community.

Care Finder is a free service that helps you:

  • Set up aged care services
  • Change aged care services
  • Connect with other supports like housing, health or mental health

Nexus Primary Health provide the Care Finder program in the Mitchell, Murrindindi, Strathbogie Shires.
